Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

It appears that we’re hosting a small Thanksgiving dinner party.  Last year, I made a rib-eye roast for Thanksgiving.  We’re not big turkey eaters, so we opted for a roast.  It was super simple.  I made some veggies and mashed potatoes.

While at the market today, I found my roast and decided to see how much the turkeys were going for.  I got my 10 pounder for only $7.  So, this year, I thought I would try my luck at roasting a turkey.  I talked to the Mister and he was all game.  I figured, now, I’d have to do all the trimmings too.  I told him, I’m going to do a whole feast for the 5 of us and my brother.  Next thing, I know he contacted an old friend of ours and invited him for dinner.  Great!  I’m so excited.  This will be my very first Thanksgiving dinner in which I will be doing all of the cooking.  I heart cooking!

So, out goes the Sam Woo deep fried turkey.  Tomorrow, I’ll be looking at all sorts of recipes!  I’m pretty good at desserts, but this whole turkey thing is going to definitely be a challenge.

After eating all this food, I’m going to need to get back on the workout plan.  I ran across this article Post-Thanksgiving Full-Body Workout Plan.  I’ve only lost 10 pounds this year… I blame my laziness and my busyness.  I need to be more disciplined and consistent with my daily regiment.  It’s really all up to me and my attitude.  NO MORE EXCUSES!

Here’s my heart of the day.  Little Bakey and the Mister.jessjakebeach
